OpenResilience Power is an open-source platform that tells decision-makers in Nigeria and Uganda which child-critical hospitals, clinics, schools, and water points will fail next — triggers pre-authorised response before the failure — and simulates the child-impact of investment decisions before money moves.

Three things make this different

We started from what existing tools cannot do — and built around those gaps.

Cross-sector by design

Hospitals, schools, and water points modelled together — because a child's environment is one connected system. Explicit dependency edges show when a borehole failure takes down a clinic and a school.

Anticipatory, not reactive

Forecast-triggered, pre-authorised response. When a heatwave is forecast over a facility with active cold chain and falling battery state-of-charge, the system fires — and an approved response moves before the vaccines spoil.

Counterfactual simulation

Donors and ministries see the projected child-impact of any deployment plan before committing. Move the budget slider, change the priority strategy, watch the projected vaccine doses protected and classroom hours preserved update live.

Built around the outcomes that matter for children

The Facility Resilience Index is not a neutral risk score. It weights child-critical services first — by design.

Vaccine viability

Cold-chain outage detection and anticipatory triggers protect measles, polio, DPT, and routine immunisation coverage.

Neonatal & under-5 survival

Neonatal and maternity criticality weighting elevates the facilities where service disruption costs the most.

Water access

Pump continuity is monitored as a first-class signal. Schools and clinics share the upstream borehole risk.

Classroom hours preserved

Outage hours and indoor heat are tracked at primary schools and boarding facilities. Learning continuity is a measurable outcome.

Air quality

Indoor PM2.5 monitoring in schools and clinics flags respiratory burden before it becomes a clinical problem.

Equitable allocation

Priority Deployment Ranker and Simulator surface the facilities where each dollar protects the most children.
